Or How My Life Changed in an Instant

I started this blog in 2019 to chronicle my journey from happily married to blind-sided and broken to (hopefully) whole again. And all the in-betweens.

A lot has changed since then.

About Me.

I began this blog as a form of therapy for myself. It was 2019. I found out my husband of 10 years had been unfaithful to me and my world as I knew it fell apart.

Anyway, if you go back far enough in my posts, you can read all about it.

I'm an open book in case you can't tell by my content. Never ask me a question you do not want the answer to because I am a terrible liar. I wear my heart on my sleeve.

Spoiler alert: I'm happy again. I have once again been lucky in love and I sincerely hope third time is the charm.

As a result of this happiness, my blog has evolved. I sometimes talk about the mundane. I sometimes show off my home decor or home improvement projects. Sometimes I'm crafty.

What I am most emphatically NOT is an influencer. I have never thought I was and I am far too lazy to try to be one now. The title of my blog dates back to a trip to New York when a photo of me in Times Square led to a sunglass company asking me to be one of their ambassadors. I laughed because at the time I only had a little over 100 followers. Here we are 4 years later and I still have less than 200 followers on Instagram.

What else? I am a mother to identical twin young men, I have one step-son, and 3 lovely German daughters via exchange programs. I currently have one dog (Mister Manfred) and two cats (Lily and Shadow) that I inherited when I married my wonderful husband. My hobbies are needle felting, paint by numbers, reading (I'll read just about anything but my favorites are autobiographies/biographies, Christopher Moore, and the Harry Potter franchise), watching TV/movies (I'll watch just about anything - current addiction: cult documentaries), and throwing dinner parties. Like Superman, I get my strength from the sun and can frequently be found in or around a body of water. Often with a tasty beverage in hand.

I was a wedding planner/day of coordinator/officiant for nearly 10 years in the Austin area until...well that feels like a blog post. My most recent employment history is mortgage loan processor but I was laid off a few months ago (April 2023) so I currently have a lot of time on my hands.
